As far as fit and look go, this case is exactly what I wanted. It provides the proper amount of protection for my camera lens, looks great, feels great, and goes in and out of my pocket with ease. However, as of now, it’s completely unusable to me, thus the 2-star review.
This case reeks. I mean, it stinks like you wouldn’t believe. I have had it for more than 24 hours and have washed it three times. This may actually be making it worse.
Have you ever been around somebody who was irresponsible enough to throw a tire on a fire? I have. It smells awful, and the thick black smoke rolling off it just screams “poison”. This case smells like there is a tire on fire in your hand. I can’t use the phone while the case is on, because it makes me feel like I am being bombarded with noxious chemicals. It has stunk up my entire office just by sitting there. Also, my hand stinks from handling the phone while it is in the case. I need to go wash my hands.
I seriously think my tongue is swelling up just from being around this thing. I feel like I need to go get checked for cancer after spending a day in the same building.
If the smell subsides, I’ll be very happy with this case. My wife ordered the Innocase II directly from Seidio, and I like mine a lot better – hers is a poor fit and makes squeaking noises when the top of the phone is handled. Normally I’m very impressed with Seidio products, but from what I can tell, their Evo line is . . . well, not quite there yet.

After maybe 3 or 4 days, the smell went away. I can still pick a tiny bit of it up if I put my nose right up to it, but it doesn’t come off on my hands anymore. Best phone case I have ever had.

This is an awesome case for the EVO. For people concerned with the smell. The first day you get the case, it smells of strong rubber if you put it right up to your nose. I don’t tend to go around smelling my phone, so this wasn’t a problem. The smell almost completely goes away after a few days. Don’t let other reviewers comments about the smell keep you from buying this great case for the EVO.

Great looking case for the EVO. Feels great in your hand, looks like it can take a beating. There was a VERY faint plastic smell like someone else was saying, but nothing to get all over dramatic about. It was barely there in the first place and it totally went away after just a few days. Easy to take on and off of the phone. Reasonably priced. No complaints here!!

I bought my Seidio innocase active case for my HTC EVO about 4 weeks ago from Amazon
I work installing and setting up elevators ,I accidentally dropped my phone from about half way up the second floor (25feet) down the elevator shaft , my phone did receive some damage but nothing to bad the bottom right corner cracked but the phone continues to work normal all thanks to the great case, although I did have to replace the plastic guard of the case because it broke it was worth it because its not every day that someone drops a phone from about 25 feet high and is still able to use it normally.
Any other type of protective case would’ve been worthless in my case. This is a very wise investment that is worth every penny.

Best Evo case available in the market. Price is reasonable. Add considerable amount of weight to Evo but feels good in hands. My only objection is that the soft case cover both volume and power switches and little difficult to push.
